Gebr. Pfeiffer wins another order in Nepal
The Indian subsidiary of Gebr. Pfeiffer, Gebr. Pfeiffer (India) Pvt Ltd, has received an order from the Himalayan state of Nepal to supply another mill. A new kiln line will be built by Samrat Cement Company Pvt Ltd, in the Dang region of southern Nepal. KHD will supply the new cement rotary kiln, which, together with the calciner, will be fired with pulverised coal. To produce this pulverised coal, KHD has ordered a grinding plant with a MPS 225 BK from Gebr. Pfeiffer. With a drive power of 370 kW, the mill will grind 35 tph of coal to a product fineness of 15% R 90 µm. Simultaneously, the coal, which may have a feed moisture of up to 10%, will be dried in the mill. The ground coal will be separated into fine product and coarse product by an integrated high-efficiency classifier, type SLS 1800 BK. The coarse product is then returned to the grinding zone for further grinding. The classifier also allows petroleum coke to be separated to a fineness degree of less than 1% R 90 µm. In this deal, Gebr. Pfeiffer will not only supply the main machine, which is the mill but also the grinding plant’s equipment. The company will also supply the manufacturing drawings for the required ductwork, chutes, and other parts that can be manufactured onsite. KHD’s Indian subsidiary, Humboldt Wedag India Pvt Ltd, will process the order for the Pfeiffer coal mill, showing KHD’s confidence in Gebr. Pfeiffer technology. The Indian subsidiaries of Gebr. Pfeiffer and KHD will now act jointly on further projects. This order marks Gebr. Pfeiffer’s fifth contract for mills in Nepal in less than 17 months, for the grinding of cement raw material, coal, and mixed cements.
